We went to the university campus and Dr. Tang guided us to the urban planning section, she introduced us to several products and presented many different models and research papers to us.
After the tour, our team has gained a basic understanding of urban planning, and we then had a introduction with Dr. Tang about how urban planning can help our community and out city. We discussed about the issue of moving the Auckland port area and also about the effects on not only businesses but also the environment. Dr. Tang inspired our team on our project by showing us the research of urban heat island, this project is strongly related to our innovation project, and how we can stop the residences from losing heat. This visit widened our eyes and we had lots of new ideas from this.
