Welcome to the 6-7th grade computer classroom. In addition to practicing typing, students do the following activities: Get typing games for extra practice.

File Management: Students will do a variety of activities to help them be better managers of folders. Organization is critical for this classroom, so a foundation needs to be established to make life much easier. Being Safe: This site has curriculum for grades 6-8 on how to be safe online and how to deal with bullying

Being Savvy Online? Students look at Internet videos and must determine if they are real or fake. They use an efficient keyword search and locate a credible source to confirm their answer. Online Unit on Endangered Animals: Students will create posters using Google Drawing. They will then embed their poster on a classroom site so their peers can see their work and provide constructive feedback. PowerPoint Basics: Students make a PowerPoint presentation about themselves. They learn about consistent layouts and design. They are given tips to maintain the interest of the audience. They are taught how to insert music to last the duration of the presentation.
