Get ready . . .

We will write this argument using the standard argument template, PEEL.
P - Point. This is a quick sentence that sums up your argument and makes the point. E.g Banning cigarettes will lead to a black market.
E - Expanation. This is explaining what happens that leads to the point if action happens, negatively or positively, logically leading the listener through steps to the point. E.g When cigarettes are banned, smokers will still have the urge to smoke and thus will be led to find cigarettes through often illegal means. This black market will prey on children and helpless addicts and will be as widespread as the influence of tobacco.
E - Example. This is a real world example of something in the world that relates to the topic and proves your point. Relate to relevant studies to consolidate your argument. If you can't think of any, then create a hypothetical but do not extend it. E.g This is similar to the Opium War, where they fought against the thing they were addicted to and ultimately lost.
L - Link. This is restating your point but rewording it. E.g Therefore, banning cigarettes would cause a illegal system.
The Final Argument: Banning cigarettes will lead to a black market. When cigarettes are banned, smokers will still have the urge to smoke and thus will be led to find cigarettes through often illegal means. This black market will prey on children and helpless addicts and will be as widespread as the influence of tobacco. This is similar to the Opium War, where they fought against the thing they were addicted to and ultimately lost. Therefore, banning cigarettes would cause a illegal system.
