Audrey is represented by James McGowan of BookEnds Literary and she is author of the forthcoming A HAT FOR HOUSE (Putnam, 2024) and MOO HOO (Scholastic, 2024). Audrey used to lock herself in her room, staple paper together, write stories, and draw pictures. For hours. Day after day. Reading. Writing. Drawing. Her family was essentially my first critique group. As for the rest of her "writing/growing-up years," it went something like this: Language Arts student of the year. Yearbook editor and newspaper reporter. English Major with emphasis in Children's Literature. Poetry magazine staff. Part-time marketing assistant for the University Press. Eventually she had the wedding and became a mommy -- dreams she discovered she had after all. It took getting diagnosed with cancer to jolt her into finally taking her lifelong dream seriously. She was dismayed at the thought of never giving her dream of writing children's books a solid chance and then leaving this earth without knowing if she could have done it. So she took the chance. Eventually, she published a few non-fiction children's books. And though there will always be rejection, and she will always be learning, she will also always keep dreaming and always keep working.

Derick Wilder is donating a copy of his new picture book I MADE THESE ANTS SOME UNDERPANTS (shipping to USA only).
Derick has been writing for as long as he can remember … journaling vacations, penning poetic birthday cards, and scribbling silly stories. His high school counselor recommended he pursue poetry in college so, naturally, he studied computer science and statistics. That led to a career in technology, where Derick's writing was mostly limited to emails, business requirements, and technical specs. Fortunately, he had a baby girl, and promised her he would make reading together a top priority. Over endless hours in the children’s section of the library, he fell in love with picture books. Once hooked, he began scribbling silly stories again, this time for an audience of one. Over the years, both his daughter and his love of books grew. He founded Reading Giraffe, a literacy initiative with the goal of creating lifelong readers by making books come alive. His persistence and patience eventually paid off, as he's now represented by the wonderful Jenna Pocius of the Red Fox Literary Agency. Derick is also the author of DOES A BULLDOZER HAVE A BUTT? and THE LONGEST LETSGOBOY.
