This privacy policy applies to the Kidan mobile application (hereinafter referred to as the "App"), developed, operated, and owned by Adey World (hereinafter referred to as "we," "our," or "the developer"). Kidan is a courtship app tailored for Orthodox Tewahedo Christians. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: email address or Telegram handle, name, baptismal name, date of birth.

• Profile information: gender, height, city/country, languages, church/jurisdiction, parish, father confessor, liturgy attendance, fasting practice, confession frequency, patron saint, marriage intent and timeline, wedding rite preference, chastity stance, photos, and a free-text answer.

• Optional information: a designated chaperone or accountability partner's name.

• Usage information: likes/passes, matches, messages, courtship stage progression, reports you file, and basic device/app diagnostics.

• Analytics information: we collect app usage analytics — screens and features you use, session length, and interaction events — to understand how the app is used and to improve it.

2. How we use your information To create and rank your matches; to run the Journey and Conversations features; to moderate profiles before they become visible to others; to investigate reports and enforce our community standards; and to operate, maintain, and improve the app by Adey World.

3. Profile review and moderation Every profile is reviewed by a human moderator before it is visible to other users. If a profile is rejected, the account and its data are deleted rather than left editable.

4. Who sees your information Your profile is visible only to other verified users once approved. Messages are visible to you and your match; if you name a chaperone, they may be given read access to that match's conversation at your request. Moderators can see all profile and report data for moderation purposes. We do not sell your data.

5. Data storage and security Data is stored with Supabase (Postgres, Auth) and, for photos, may also use Cloudflare R2. Row-level security restricts access so users can only read/write their own data and matches; moderators access data through the admin dashboard under access controls. Usage analytics are processed by Adey World to understand app engagement and are not sold to third parties.

6. Data retention and deletion You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Rejected signups are deleted automatically. We retain report records as needed for safety and legal purposes.

7. Age requirement Kidan is for users 18 and older. We enforce this at signup and reject accounts that do not meet this requirement.

8. Your rights You may access, correct, or delete your data, and withdraw consent for chaperone access, at any time through the app or by contacting us.

9. Changes to this policy We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be notified in-app.
