Privacy Policy for Kibbleworks
Last updated: 2026
Kibbleworks is a feeding companion for dog owners. It counts daily calories, keeps a bowl diary, tracks weigh-ins and a treat budget, and offers an AI helper called Bowl Advisor. This policy explains, in plain words, what happens to the information you type into the app.
1. Nothing is collected by us
Kibbleworks has no accounts, no sign-in and no user tracking. We run no analytics, no advertising SDKs and no crash reporters. We never see your dogs' names, your pantry, your diary or your weigh-ins, because none of it is sent to us.
2. Where your data lives
Every dog profile, food card, diary entry, plan, weigh-in, body-condition score, calculator record and Bowl Advisor session is written to the app's private container on your iPhone or iPad. The app works fully offline. Nothing is synced to a server, and nothing is backed up by us. The only copies that exist are the ones the system keeps as part of your normal device backup, which you control in iOS settings.
3. Bowl Advisor and OpenAI
Bowl Advisor is the one feature that talks to the internet. When you tap Decode, Generate, Suggest or send a chat message, the text you typed and the context you chose to include are transmitted to OpenAI's API (model gpt-4o-mini) so a reply can be generated. Before the first request the app shows a three-step notice and asks for your agreement.
What can be included is up to you. With "Include dog profile in AI requests" switched on, the request carries the dog's breed group, age, sex and neutering status, current and target weight, body-condition score, activity level, goal, allergy tags, the active plan's target calories, the pantry without prices, and a summary of the last seven diary days. The dog's name, your notes, prices and the full weigh-in history are never sent under any setting. With the toggle off, only what you type or paste is sent. OpenAI's handling of API traffic is described at https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
4. Reminders
If you switch reminders on, the app asks iOS for notification permission and schedules local notifications for meal times, weigh-ins, food-transition days and a bag that is about to run out. These are created and delivered on the device; no notification service of ours is involved.
5. Deleting your data
Use "Reset All Data" in Settings to wipe every profile, diary and pantry item, or simply delete the app. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing left for us to erase.
6. Children
Kibbleworks is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. Since the app collects nothing from anyone, this holds for every user.
7. A note on the numbers
Calorie and portion figures produced by the app are general guidance for healthy adult dogs. They are not veterinary advice, and the app does not store or process any human health data.
8. Updates to this policy
If the app's behaviour changes, this document changes with it and the "Last updated" line at the top is refreshed.
