Internship Goals
Internship Goals
Before I took on an Accounting Intern role I had very little knowledge of what to expect, but I had so much I wanted to learn. When I took on this role I began to see the responsibilities in how I will be assisting clients in their tax needs which made me to want to learn more and more and it only fed more fuel to the fire for my passion in Finance / Accounting! This led me to keeping these goals in mind:
Be able to implement things I learn from accounting classes to the internship and real world situations.
To learn how to properly and effectively use the softwares and programs required in the internship to further my skills and knowledge for future positions.
I plan to achieve these goals by the time the spring semester is over.
One of the main things employers will look at is work experience and your level of education in the real world. Getting an internship is only one of the first steps into gaining that work experience. By taking this internship I wanted to be able to add to the current work experience I possess and create an attractive resume for employers to look at. With this in mind I will...
Go above and beyond to gain hands-on experience with clients and build interpersonal connections with clients to better understand how this may relate to the real world post graduation.
Create opportunity to present my skills and knowledge in the internship to prove them on my experience of work.
I plan to achieve this goal by the time the spring semester is over.
Personal Goal
It has always been a goal of mine to become the very best and to gain the most experience and knowledge in something I am very passionate for. My passion lies in the business world such as Finance/Accounting. For me to be able to achieve this goal I must take the necessary precautions and prepare now to meet the time requirement I desire. My timeline for this goal will be:
By the end of 2024 spring - begin to find MBA programs that I may want to attend and send out applications.
Mid 2025 after Graduation - Begin prepping for the CPA exam.
By the end of 2025 - meet my two year work experience requirement to obtain a CPA license.
Mid to End 2027 - Obtain my MBA degree and have passed the CPA exam.
