Effective date: 24 September 2026 | App: Kharcha (com.nikhilsharma.kharcha) | Developer: Nikhil Sharma
Kharcha is a personal money tracker. You use it to write down your own daily expenses, money lent and borrowed (udhar), subscriptions, credit card bills and savings goals. This policy explains what happens to that information.
Short version
Everything you enter stays on your phone. Kharcha does not collect, upload, sell or share any of your data. The app has no internet permission, no account or login, no ads, no analytics and no third-party SDKs.
What the app stores, and where
The app stores the following only in its private storage on your device: the entries you type (amounts, categories, notes, dates, names of people for udhar, subscription names, card nicknames); your optional name, monthly budget and profile photo; and optional photos you choose for categories. The developer never receives this information. The app never asks for bank login details, full card numbers, CVV, PIN or UPI details. The optional "last 4 digits" of a card field exists only for your own reference.
Photos
When you add a profile or category photo, you pick it using Android's photo picker. The app resizes that one photo and saves a small copy on your device. It does not read your other photos.
Sharing
The "Yaad dilao" (remind) and "Backup bhejo" buttons open Android's share menu with a message. Nothing is sent unless you choose an app and send it yourself.
Backups
If you have turned on Android's device backup (Google backup), Android may include the app's data in your personal backup. That backup is handled by Google under your Google account settings, not by the developer.
Deleting your data
Open the profile screen and tap "Saara data delete karo", or uninstall the app. Either removes all of the app's data from your device.
Children
Kharcha is meant for adults managing their own money. It is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
