Masoor daal - one cup
Salt - one spoon
Haldee - one spoon
Chili powder- one spoon
Water - 4 cups
Oil - 3 tablespoons
Onion - ½ sliced
½ spoon zeera
Crushed garlic - ¼ spoon
Dhania/and or sliced pepper
Optional-add butter/tomato when almost done cooking.
Wash daal and add water, one salt, haldee, chili powder and let it simmer for 2 to 3 hours on 4 to 5 medium heat .... don’t let it get too thick add water as needed.
When soft blend take off the stove and blend with the hand blender stick....
In a frying pan add oil, onion, zeera, and let it cook till light golden
Add crushed garlic from the fridge to this mixture.... it will spray and turn golden very fast .... be very careful
Add the mixture to the dal....
It is ready but if you have fresh Dhania you can add a few chopped leaves.... cook another 5 to 10 minutes so leaves wilt....add water if too thick while cooking
Cool then put in container
