About Me

My name is Kevin Slote. I am a Ph.D. student in Applied Math in the Biological and Engineering Networks Lab and a Principal Data Scientist at Egnyte with 10 years of experience in industrial deep learning and machine learning research with a focus on transformers and large language models. My industry and academic research focuses include A.I., machine learning, applied math and neuroscience. My academic research focuses on predicting epileptic seizure onset zones based on networks of interacting neurons as well as using epidemiological and causal models on problems related to gun control and mass shootings. I received my masters degree from Georgia State University in Abstract Algebra in 2015.
