The London Stationery Show was an absolute (hard-working) delight. As mentioned a little in the #NatStatWeek blog I was asked by Scriveiner to draw for the day and, in six hours, ended up creating a number of images using their pens as well as some time-lapse videos and a LOT of talking to show visitors. There was a lot of multi-tasking going on!
The process started a few days earlier when I decided I very much needed a pen holder. Cue a few sessions of frenetic character design, 3d building an Ink Gremlin and then 3d printing... and voila (with, in the case of the middle picture, an unfortunately placed piece of filament support :) )
The pens I celebrated on the day were Scriveiner's Aubergine and black metal pen. For the first time I diluted the ink I was going to use in a couple of brush pens and used that to colour tone and was very pleased with the results. Much more of that to come I thnk.

A HUGE amount of stationery to look at and play with! Sad I couldn't get to the second day to explore.
Aubergine testers on the train headed in.
Aaaaaand lots of immediate Aubergine art classes for people at the show.
Definitely aiming to draw a few more Aubergines soon.
The hero pens of the day - both lovely, as the Scriveriner pens always are.
I've used a bronze and copper Scriveiner for years now... The patina on mine is well-worked and delightful.
The first picture I drew was an about me image - and did help with some of the initial conversations.
My little space in the great big Stationery world....
All in all a fabulous day to enjoy, work hard and come up with ideas for new hijinks! More, very much hopefully, to come...
