Kentucky Dream Mile 2021 Athlete Biographies

Tula Fawbush 5:03.55

Oldham County High School

Tula is a freshman at Oldham County High School. Her dream mile qualifying time is 5:03.55, her personal best is 5:01, from the Assumption Distance Night meet. Her other personal records are 11:06 in the 3200, and 18:29 in the 5K.


Reese Ragland 5:05.53

Louisville Collegiate School

Reese is a junior at Louisville Collegiate School and her Dream Mile qualifying time of 5:05:52 which is also her personal best. Her 800m PR is 2.21.86. Those are both school records.

In 2019 she was 4th at state in the 1600m as a freshman. In both 2020 and 2021, she was the Class A Indoor State Champion in the 800m and 1600m.

Reese also runs cross country and finished 6th in 2019 when Collegiate won their first state title. She is a four-time All-Stater in cross country. Reese also plays field hockey at Collegiate.


Ciara O’Shea 5:06.28

Madison Central High School

Ciara is a sophomore at Madison Central High School. Her dream mile qualifying time is 5:06.28. Other personal records include 2:19 for 800, 10:39 for 3200 and 17:40 for 5K. Ciara is a 3 time state cross country champion for 3A and 2 time Gatorade Athlete of the year.


Kaylee Wilson - 5:13.04*

Christian Academy of Louisville Dream Mile qualifying time:

Kaylee is a senior at CAL and has been a Dream Mile qualifier in every one of her track seasons. She holds the school record at 5:11.23 and was the 3rd place finisher in the 1600 at the AA State Meet her sophomore year. Kaylee is also a three-time All-State cross country runner with a high school PR of 18:33. She has run varsity since her 8th grade year and was a key part of two Cross Country State Championship teams at CAL. Next year Kaylee will continue her running career at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.


Ashlyn Vanlandingham 5:14.33*

Conner High School

Ashlyn is a junior at Conner High School. Ashlyn has personal records of 2:19.20 in the 800, 5:12.52 in the 1600, and 18:59.34 in the 5k. Ashlyn placed 3rd in the 800 and 6th in the 1600 at the 2019 3A State Meet.


Emily Liddle 5:16.27*

Bluegrass United Homeschool

Emily is a sophomore with Bluegrass United Home School. Her dream mile qualifying time is 5:15, which is her personal best. This is her first Dream Mile race. She has a personal best of 2:24 in the 800 this track season. In cross country earlier this school year she finished the season with a 5K PR of 18:45. Emily has a desire to continue competing in college after high school.


Jessie Secor 5:16.99*

duPont Manual High School

Jessie is a sophomore at duPont Manual High School. Her dream mile qualifying time is 5:16.99. Her personal bests include a 5:13 mile and a 10:46 3200m. Jessie is a two-time All-State Competitor in Cross Country and finished 12th place at Nike Cross Nationals Southeast in 2019. Jessie currently holds a 4.24 GPA.


Addi Dewey 5:17.76*

Christian Academy of Louisville

Addi is a junior at CAL and is running her first Dream Mile with a qualifying time of 5:15.93. On the track, she has been a New Balance National qualifier in the 3200 and has a personal best of 18:16 in the 5k. Addi has run on the varsity team since her 8th grade year and been a key part of the running program at CAL. She is also a two-time State Runner-up and one time State Champion in cross country. This past fall, she helped lead her team to winning the 2020 Girl's State Championship.


Alexis Dotson 5:14.81*

Rockcastle County High School

Alexis "Lexi" Dotson is a freshman at Rockcastle County High School. She has personal bests of 2:20.89 in the 800, 4:52.0 in the 1500, 5:16.46 in the 1600, and 19:53.9 in the 5000. She has won many indoor state track titles in both middle and high school and has been a part of many indoor state championship teams. In 2019, she earned 1st team all-state honors in the 4x400-meter relay. Her sister, Tori, is a middle distance runner at Marshall University. Lexi hopes to follow in her footsteps one day and become a D1 runner, possible as a member of the Thundering Herd.

Bethany Simpson an Amazing Track & Field/ Cross Country Athlete. Bethany is a Freshman at Bourbon County High School. She can do a wide arrangement of events at a very high level. Her personal best times and jumps are as follows.

Abigail Bohn 5:21.78

duPont Manual High School

Abigail is a senior at duPont Manual High School. Her dream mile qualifying time is 5:21.78. Her other personal bests include a 5:15 Mile, a 2:24 800m, and a 19:05 5k. Abigail is 2 time Dream Mile qualifier and was a participant in Nike Cross Nationals. She currently holds a 4.45 GPA and will continue her running career at the University of Louisville.


Julia Schmitt 5:24.29*

Assumption

Julia Schmitt is a freshman at Assumption and has a dream mile qualifying time of 5:24. She was also a member of Assumptions 2nd place 2020 State XC Team, finishing 9th with a PR of 19:55. This will be Julia's first dream mile.


Clayra Darnell 5:25.95*

Mercer County Senior High School

Clayra is a member of the class of 2023 at Mercer County Senior High. Her dream mile qualifying time is 5:24. Clayra also broke the school record in the 3200 meters this year. She also qualified for the 2019 New Balance High School championship.


Lydiah Strauel 5:26.21*

Bluegrass United Homeschool

Lydiah is a senior with Bluegrass United. Her dream mile qualifying time is 5:26.21, which is her personal best. This is her first time to compete in the Dream Mile. She finished her cross country season with a personal best of 19:30 for a 5K. Lydiah has signed with the University of the Cumberlands to continue her running career.


Renae Kopser 5:27.36*

Ryle High Scholl

Renae is a junior at Larry A. Ryle High School. Her qualifying time for the Dream Mile is 5:27.36. Renae is the first athlete ever from Ryle to qualify for the Dream Mile. Her other personal records are 7:54.98 in the 2000m Steeplechase, and 19:27.34 in the 5K. She has been a State Qualifier in Cross Country for the past 4 years and was a scoring member of the Ryle women’s team that placed 3rd at the 2020 State XC Meet. She is also a 2 time State Qualifier in Track. Renae hopes to continue her running career at the collegiate level.


Ella Henage 5:27.56*

Oldham County

Ella is a junior at Oldham County High school. Her dream mile qualifying time is 5:25 in the 1600m, which is her personal best. Her other personal bests are 2:24 in the 800m and 19:12 in the 5k. As a freshman she finished on the podium at state in the 800. She also placed 11th in the 3A XC state meet her sophomore year. She was a part of Oldham county’s cross country state champion team all three years.


Connor Hayes 4:19.68

Lexington Christian Academy

Connor is a senior at Lexington Christian Academy. His Dream Mile qualifying time is 4:19.68 which is his personal best. His other personal records are 1:57.52 in the 800, 4:18.40 in the 1600 and 9:25.29 in the 3200. Connor was the 2021 KTCCCA Class A Boys Indoor State 1500 Meter Champion with a time of 4:01.50. This will be Connor’s second Dream Mile start having competed in the race his Sophomore year. He is currently Ranked #1 in Kentucky in the 1600 and 3200 meter distances and #2 in the 800 meter run. He also is the holder of 10 LCA track and cross country high school records as well as the Kentucky State record holder in the Middle School 3200 meter run. Connor will continue his Academic career at the University of Kentucky studying Mechanical Engineering.


Jackson Watts 4:20.54*

Madisonville North Hopkins

Jackson Watts is a senior at Madisonville North Hopkins High School. Jackson's personal records are a 4:18 in the 1600, 9:27 Two Mile, and 14:57 in the 5K. Jackson was named the Boys National Most Improved Runner of the Year, Kentucky Boys Cross Country Gatorade Player of the Year, as well as the winner of the AAA Cross Country Individual State Champion. Jackson will be continuing his running career at the University of Kentucky.


Jimmy Mullarkey 4:21.01*

Fern Creek High School

Jimmy is a Junior at Fern Creek High School. His Dream Mile qualifying time of 4:19.50 for 1600m is the current school record. Jimmy also owns school records in the 5k distance both on and off the track, as well as several indoor track records. After losing out on a track season last year, Jimmy is more dedicated than ever to having a great season. Outside of running, Jimmy is involved in scouting, having recently obtained the rank of Eagle Scout, and enjoys hiking and spending time at the lake. He is currently navigating the college selection process, but plans to continue competing at the collegiate level, while possibly studying for a career in physical therapy.


Cade Flatt 4:21.45*

Marshall County

Cade Flatt is a Junior at Marshall County High School. His dream mile qualifying time is 4:19.70, which is his personal best. His other personal records are a 48.59 in the 400, 1:53.62 in the 800, and 4:01.81 in the 1500. This is Cade's first Dream Mile.


Nolan Hester 4:22.59

St. Xavier High School

Nolan Hester is a senior at Saint Xavier High School. He qualified for the Dream Mile with a 4:22 at the Borgia/ Cooper Invitational. Nolan was third in the AAA state championship in cross country and finished that season with a 5K PR of 15:17. He was Indoor State Champion in a nation-best 3:58.27 for the 1500 meter run. Next year, Nolan will join several of his teammates at Bellarmine University.


Chase Atkins 4:23.26*

Hopkinsville High School

Chase is a senior at Hopkinsville High School. His dream mile qualifying time is 4:23.26, which is his personal best. His other personal records are 1:59 in the 800, 9:51 in the 3200, and 15:25 in the 5k. This is Chase’s first year at the dream mile. Chase will continue his running career at Bellarmine University.


Theo Bachmann 4:24.52

South Oldham

Theo is a senior at South Oldham High School. His dream mile qualifying time is 4:24.52 ran in the rain at the Brother Borgia Invite. This is a personal best for an event he does not run often. He also set his personal best for the 800 at Brother Borgia of 2:00.24. Other personal best is one of the fastest 5K showcase times of 14:54.50 and a 9:16.06 indoor 2 mile time. Theo won the indoor state championship in the 3000 in a time of 8:45.05. Theo will continue his running at the University of Kentucky.


Dalton Lesher 4:24.87

Bullitt Central High School

Dalton is junior at Bullitt Central High School. His dream mile qualifying time is 4:24.87, which is his personal best. He finished third in the Class AAA Region 3 meet. He has a personal record of 2:02.29 in the 800m. He has been a competitive runner for many years and has recently began to breakthrough to a higher level and looks forward to staying healthy and continuing to grow as a runner. He is a multi-sport athlete starting on his high school basketball team at Bullitt Central. He is also a member of Bullitt Lick Baptist Church. Dalton is currently undecided on his college choice.


Lane Hoyes 4:26.10

Thomas Nelson High School

Lane is a junior at Thomas Nelson High School in Bardstown, KY. His Dream Mile qualifying time is a 4:26, which he ran at the Runtown Distance Festival. His other PR's are 9:32 for 3200 and a 15:17 for 5k. This is Lane's first time qualifying for the Dream Mile. He is the reigning 2A State Cross Country Champion, as well as the 1500m and 3000m 2A Indoor State Champion.


Tyler Walker 4:26.30*

Scott County High School

Tyler is a senior at Scott County High School. His dream mile qualifying time is a 4:24.76, which is his personal best. His other personal records are 9:36 in the 3200 and 15:24 in the 5k. This is Tyler’s first time qualifying for the dream mile. Tyler will be continuing his running career at Eastern Kentucky University.


Brady Terry 4:27.67

Daviess County High School

Brady Terry is a senior at Daviess County High School. Brady's dream mile qualifying time is 4:27.67 which is a personal record for him. Brady has personal best of 50.88 in the 400. 2:01.64 in the 800. 4:13.81 1500 meter indoor mile. 10:01.59 (3200) and, 15:49.20 for the 5K. Brady is currently undecided where he will attend college next year.


DK Schnieders 4:27.75

Holy Cross

DK is a senior at Holy Cross. His Dream Mile qualifying time is 4:27.7 which is also his personal record. HIs other bests include a 15:16 5k and a 9:40 3200m. DK was the "A" indoor 3000m champion earlier this year. In 2019, DK was the individual State "A" Cross Country Champion, the Youth National Cross Country Champion and the Courier Journal "Cross Country Runner of the Year." He has been named to the first team All-State in Cross Country four consecutive years and has been a member of the only boys Cross Country team in Louisville ever to win four consecutive team State titles. DK will continue his running career at Bellarmine University.


Logan Ballard 4:28.05

Bethlehem

Logan is a senior at Bethlehem High School. His dream mile qualifying time is 4:28.05. His other personal records are 4:06 in the 1500 and 15:51 in the 5k. He is the 2020 indoor state 800m champion and the 2021 indoor state 800m and 1500m runner-up. Logan will continue his running career at the University of Louisville in the fall.


Sami Hattab 4:29.06

St. Xavier High School

Sami is a sophomore at Saint Xavier High School. Sami finished 17th in the state's AAA Cross Country Championship race, and finished this past season with a 16:30 PR in the 5K. Sami was the anchor leg in the state-leading 4 x 800 meter performance of 8:13.10 at the Borgia/Cooper Invitational, and Sami's 4:29 Mile qualified him for the this evening's race.


Canon Weaver 4:29.30

Oldham county

Canon is a junior at Oldham County High School. He ran his PR mile recently at the

Brother Borgia/Coach Cooper Invitational with a time of 4:29.3 which qualified him to enter the Dream Mile. His 800 PR is 2:02 and his 3200 is 9:53. Canon moved to Kentucky from Arizona last summer and placed 8th in cross country state with a time of 16:39. He hopes to PR in the Dream Mile and compete at state later this track season.


JB Terrill 4:29.35*

Boyd County High School

JB is a junior at Boyd County High School in Ashland, Kentucky. His Dream Mile qualifying time was 4:27.80 for the 1600. He also runs the 800 with a personal record of 1.59.42. and was AA Boys Indoor State Champion in that event in March 2021. As a Freshman, JB placed 8th in the AA Boys Outdoor 800 state championship. He also competes in the 4x400 and 4x800 relays for Boyd County. This past January, JB and his Eastern Kentucky Striders teammates won the 4x400 mixed relay at the VA Showcase. This is JB’s first time at the Dream Mile but he hopes it will not be his last.
