Bibi arrives in Hell with the demon Luci roughly a week before her 19th birthday. Formerly a princess, she was to be "coronated" soon which in her case, really just meant she'd never get to leave her castle again. So in a desperate attempt to escape imprisonment, she summoned Luci, exchanging her soul for freedom away from home. Since Bibi asked for nothing more than to stay with the demon, and Luci can't trap or manipulate Bibi--the pixie-human harbors many secrets and a strange power that renders her nearly untouchable--the two must adjust to living together.

Bibi mentions her birthday in chapter 2 and though Luci is initially reluctant to do anything about it, she comes around by the end of chapter 3. This takes Bibi by surprise, as she wasn't expecting such a kind gesture from a creature that is typically presented as evil. Their odd friendship starts to grow from there.
