allowing myself to intricately scrutinise the happenings around me, i gradually began to realise life through a minimised scope. my art pieces set as a personal expression of the ostensibly innate aspects of life that i often look past — of how momentary my interests last, to the eerie yet familiar tranquillity of being engulfed in greenery, to utilising my emotions as I would an accessory and the sempiternal deprivation or escalation life constantly offers.
93 x 110 metal wire, expanding foam and spray paint. (2021)
as the title suggests, this piece is created anent the impermanence of life. the initial intended message was an abstract portrayal of gradual loss of interest. the gradation indicates the solidity of things at the start of something and how with time, things start to slip and fade away.
15 x 30 cm watercolour on paper (2019)
i saw a piece similar to this on pinterest and thought it falls into my theme quite alright so i decided to recreate it. this piece depicts those unfiltered thoughts that take over our line of sight — ‘can’t think straight’. when i’d often find myself overcome with thoughts that are intractable, this is how i imagine the visualisation of the feeling would be like.

cardboard, yarn, metal wire and spray paint (2021)
the title has dual meaning. wheel is to me, akin to the child-like way of pronouncing real. when it is recognised this way, the artwork becomes ironic in the sense that the ‘emotion’ is chosen by chance yet it is meant to be taken as if it were ’real’. similar to the way i would feign a certain expression emoting something simply for the sake of it. the cardboard is a recycled aqua box, this intended to mimic and mock the way i would ‘recycle’ my emotions.

graphite pencil on paper (2019)
this piece was built based on the ‘black and white — no grey area’ statement. i wanted to negligibly illustrate how nothing is completely absolute all the time mainly on the prospect of growth and loss.
i created this artwork based on a post i saw which said ‘you cannot kill me in a way that matters’ about mushrooms to convey that ‘decay exists as an extant form of life’. i thought there is loneliness in immortality but at the same time, i find greenery to bring a sense of serenity.
