Indonesia is sure is an exciting country. Starts from its abundant natural wealth, the rich culture and tradition, and of course its famous kind-hearted people. However, this country still needs a severe reflection on its political system. Over the years, politics has become a whole new tradition. People compete over a spot to get recognition, and their pride has taken over the fact that many people's lives depend on it. It is becoming harder to spot black or white, and we keep letting this topic to become grey. My artworks will represent my perspective on this issue, as I hope it will also become a reflection for today's youth, who will take over this country in the future.

This series of photographs shows how the selfishness of the people affects this country. Because of their interest in making more profit, they are willing to sell their own country. They feel they have power over the territory entrusted to them with all the positions they have won. This country continues to be eroded because of its greed.

This artwork is inspired by the political campaigns that we usually see on the streets. The sticker was added to depict illegal promotions, which are typically installed on electric poles. When it comes to politics, people will use every opportunity to get a place in the political chair as they believe that it will lead them to the future of their dreams. There are many cases where people will fake their achievements to meet the standard requirements. At the same time, we often see how people cheat the system by paying people for more votes. The whole artwork is the representation of sarcasm towards our political system.

The hope for a better beginning was destroyed as the raised of ignorance people became more often in today's politics. Many cases show that people with no political background could easily get themself involve in our country problems just by using their titles or names.
The fact that they are willing to get themself involved shows how addicted they are to the spotlight. If this continues to happen, it is for sure will affect this country future.

'Saya Akan' is the Indonesian word for 'I will'. It is a representation of the political promises that are usually made in political campaigns. Unfortunately, we rarely see these promises being realized as soon as they are elected. It is like their promises are only burned at the beginning and forgotten for the rest of their political period. This can be an unfortunate loss for the people as their hopes for the candidates never come true.
