Welcome to my website! I am passionate about Africa’s development.
I am a Development and Resource Economist and currently working as an Agricultural Economist at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), focusing on the Southern Africa region. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Social Sciences and Impact Assessment Unit of the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology—icipe. Having grown up in rural Zambia with a single mother who was an unsuccessful farmer, I am passionate about rural development and working with smallholder farmers to jointly find solutions to improve their livelihoods. My ongoing work includes climate change adaptation, agriculture and nutrition, digitalization in agriculture, shocks and coping, and information economics.
I received my PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics (specialization in Environmental and Resource Economics) from Colorado State University, USA, in 2021 where I was a Fulbright Scholar.
I have advised and consulted for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), International Centre of Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), Consumer Unity and Trust Society (CUTS) International, Abt Associates, and Mathematica among others.
I am highly skilled at data collection through household surveys using CAPI, and implementation of RCTs for impact evaluation. My field experience spans across Zambia, Kenya, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, Nepal, and India.
In my free time, I love hiking, playing chess, tennis, and nature walks.
