This project shows the steps taken from receiving a project request, turning that into measurable learning goals, and into a course that can then deliver on them.
There has been an increase in product related support tickets from customers. The ticket topics have been referencing the inability to locate certain applications and settings and around functionally of the Notebook application. Help articles exist on these topics and we can track that they are being viewed, but more training on how to navigate the platform, creating and editing a Notebook entry, and creating folders and projects is needed.
From the overview, we can see that a gap in product knowledge and skill can be identified. Users are having difficulty navigating the platform and aren't using key elements of certain applications. After getting a request like this, the best next step is to do a deeper analysis to determine if training really is the right solution.
While it's worth investigating the product and user behaviors itself to determine if there is room for design improvements, in this exercise we've concluded that a lack of training opportunities is the root cause for this issue.
After completing this course series, learners will be able to:
Locate specific files using the global search
Identify when best practices for project and folder structuring is applied
Demonstrate how permission structures impact folders, project and notebook entries
Highlight value of the mention functionality
Create and format Notebook entries to comply with given parameters
From the request overview, the next part of the process was to create discrete learning objectives. Using Bloom's Taxonomy as a baseline, I looked at the overview in regards to potential skill and knowledge gaps. From there, I created objectives that have learners both learn concepts such as what features and available, and opportunities to apply them such as project and folder best practices.
Once these are set, an outline of the course can be created as well as setting the success metrics for the overall project.
