Welcome to the CRACK Lab at IIT Madras !
At CRACK (Concrete Research And Crack Kinetics) Lab, we focus on understanding the mechanical and fracture behavior of concrete composites. Our current research includes Textile Reinforced Concrete (TRC) and Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC).
The lab is part of the Building Technology, Construction Materials, and Management (BTCM) group in the Department of Civil Engineering, and is affiliated with the Center of Excellence for Technologies in Low-Carbon and Lean Construction (TLC2) at IIT Madras.
We study the micro- and macro-structural behavior of construction materials through experimental mechanics and develop mechanistic models to predict their performance. Our lab activities span the experimental and analytical investigation of fatigue and fracture mechanics of concrete.
By integrating experiments and modeling, CRACK Lab aims to advance the understanding of concrete composites and contribute to the development of durable, high-performance, and sustainable construction materials.
I am always looking for motivated and enthusiastic students to join my research team. If you are interested in working with me, please email your CV to keerthanak@civil.iitm.ac.in . I can also be reached at +91 44 2257 4305 for any questions.
