Keepsake: Remember everything
Effective date: [July 17, 2026]

Keepsake helps you capture thoughts, reminders, and routines by voice or text. This policy explains what information the app handles, what stays on your device, and what is sent to third parties.
Keepsake does not require an account. We do not operate a Keepsake cloud backup service in this version.
Content you create
When you use Keepsake, you may provide voice captures (transcribed to text on your device), typed text captures, and reminders, memories, routines, titles, dates, and related details you save. This content is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
App preferences
Keepsake stores settings on your device, such as dark mode, strong alerts, default alarm preference, and whether you completed onboarding. These are stored in on-device storage and are not sent to our servers.
Permissions
Depending on how you use Keepsake, the app may request:
Microphone — to transcribe your voice while you capture
Speech Recognition — to convert speech to text on your device
Notifications — to remind you about saved items
Alarms (iOS 26+, if enabled) — for reminders you mark as unmissable
You can change these anytime in iOS Settings.
Google Gemini (AI parsing)
When you submit a capture for sorting, the transcript text is sent from your device to Google’s Gemini API so Keepsake can turn your words into structured reminders (Today, Memories, Routines, and so on).
We send text only for parsing — not a separate audio file for this step.
Google processes this data under Google’s Privacy Policy.
We do not operate our own backend server for parsing in this version.
If parsing fails (for example, no network), Keepsake may save your text locally without AI sorting.
Apple Speech Recognition
When you use voice capture, speech is converted to text using Apple’s Speech framework. When possible, recognition runs on your iPhone. When on-device recognition is unavailable, Apple may process audio on its servers, subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not save or upload voice recordings for parsing.
Your reminders, memories, and routines
Original capture text associated with saved items
Scheduled local notifications and system alarms
App preferences
Keepsake does not receive reports about whether notifications or alarms were delivered.
In this version, Keepsake does not require you to create an account, collect your name, email, or phone number through the app, use advertising or cross-app tracking, or sell your personal information. We do not knowingly integrate third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in this version.
On your device: until you delete individual items, use Delete all data in Settings, or uninstall the app.
With Google: governed by Google’s data retention practices for API requests. We do not control how long Google retains API request data.
You can delete individual items in the app; delete all data in Settings → Data → Delete all data; uninstall the app to remove local data from your iPhone; revoke permissions in iOS Settings; or use text input instead of voice if you prefer not to use the microphone.
Keepsake uses standard iOS security features, including encrypted HTTPS when communicating with Google’s API. Sensitive developer credentials, if stored, use the iOS Keychain. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Keepsake is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you use Keepsake outside your home country, your transcript text may be processed by Google on servers located in other countries, according to Google’s policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date at the top when we do. Continued use of Keepsake after changes means you accept the updated policy.
