Single Flame Source Tester , Fire Testing Services By KDM Global

Ignitability test, also referred to as the single-flame source test. The test apparatus complies with EN ISO 11925-2. Results from tests on building structures can be categorised using standard 13501-1.

The test specimens must have dimensions of (250) mm in length and (90) mm in width. The burner is moved horizontally at a 45° angle until the test specimen is touched by the flame, which has a 20 mm length, in the predetermined location. Testing could be necessary for surface exposure, edge exposure, or even both. The flame application time is either 15 or 30 seconds, depending on the sponsor.

During the test, it is noted whether ignition occurs, whether the flame tip climbs 150 mm above the flame application point, and whether the filter ignites.

Norms: DIN 4102 and EN ISO 11925-2
