Initially, the Emperor/ Empress/ Empress consort is addressed with the honorific "Your Imperial Majesty," transitioning to the more familiar "Sir" as the conversation unfolds. Other members of the Royal Family receive the initial address of "Your Majesty" and are later referred to as "Sir" or "Ma'am" as the dialogue progresses, unless a more fitting title of higher rank is deemed appropriate.
Members are required to perform a 90 degrees bow when The Emperor/ The Empress or their consorts enter the room. 90 degrees bow are also necessary when handing things to their Majesties, and the person handing them is not a member of another nation's Royal Family/ Government.
The decision to extend a bow or curtsy, when meeting His Imperial Majesty and other members of the Imperial Family is at the discretion of the individuals involved. This gesture of courtesy is not only permissible but warmly received. Handshakes are not-permissible.
For those who choose to bow:
Men may perform a neck bow, a graceful inclination just beyond a nod of the head.
Women may adopt a curtsy by placing the right foot behind the left heel, accompanied by a slight bend of the knees.
Upon reaching each destination in their itinerary, the Royal Family members are warmly welcomed by the host. Formal introductions are unnecessary, as the Royal Family is well-informed about the host's identity through prior briefing notes.
While accompanying the Royal Visitor, it is fitting for the host to walk alongside them. The host should facilitate any necessary introductions with a sense of propriety and courtesy.
The following points may prove helpful in addressing related inquiries to dressing:
There exists no obligatory requirement for the donning of hats. However, hats should be removed when His Imperial Majesty enters. The same applies to when taking photographs and exchanging greetings with HIM.
The wearing of gloves is not compulsory. However, should a woman choose to wear them, the same conditions as of that wearing the hat apply.
All people involved in hosting any member of the Imperial Family shall wear trousers longer than the level of their knees. The same applies to women's skirts.
It is generally unknown in advance what colors of clothing His Imperial Majesty or other Members of the Imperial Family will wear at functions. However, this can be sometimes informed of before the commencement of such functions.
The host should initate a toast when the members of the Imperial Family are in attendance. The host should be seated next to the highest ranked Imperial Family Member in attendance.
This is the usual procedure:
After the dessert and coffee are served, the host stands and asks guests to join him/her in toasting His Imperia Majesty. When all guests are standing, the host raises his or her glass, and then says without music or other words: “Ladies and Gentlemen, His Imperial Majesty.”
All guests repeat the words “His Imperial Majesty,” drink and resume their seats - this is to be done bilingually: In the host's preferred language and Yatanese.
The first toast shall be always offered to the Highest Ranking Imperial Family Member in Attendance.
Any type of drink can be used for a toast, except for cocktails, while wine is preferred.
Members of the Imperial Family do not respond to toasts.
