Ijuin-no-Miya

The Ijuin (伊集院宮, Ijuin-no-Miya) (princely house) is the third oldest collateral branch (Miyake) of the Yatanese Imperial Family created from the Usakura-no-Miya, allowed to provide a successor to the Imperial Throne should the main Imperial line fail to produce an heir.

The Ijuin-no-miya house was formed in 1986 by Prince Sanemune, first son of Prince Sanehide and Princess Tada. Prince Sanemune married Princess Kenshi, and has two daughters : Princess Reishi and Princess Tokushi.

The Munakata house will become extinct after the death of it's current head.

The Ijuin-no-Miya palace is located in Shirakuse, Uta-no-Kuni and is still occupied by the House's members.
