Designer Booklet

The Designer Booklet project was a Graphic Design Development class assignment that entailed creating an 8-page booklet about an influential graphic designer. The booklet needed to include two articles of copy and highlight the most famous works of the designer while giving proper credit to all sources of content.

I chose to do my booklet on modernist, Massimo Vignelli whose notable works include signage for the New York subway system and the U.S. National Parks system's park pamphlets. The theme of the booklet borrowed design elements from both famous pieces. The aspect ratio and black text bar across mimics the National Park pamphlets, and the page numbers and typography pay homage to the Helvetica signs still used today in the NYC subways. Booklet was assembled in InDesign and images were prepared for print in Photoshop.
