4th Year PhD Student at IIT Kanpur

(PMRF 2020 Candidate)

Hello, I am Krashnavtar, a 4th year PhD student of Materials Science & Engineering department at IIT Kanpur. I work at Process and Steel Research Laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Dipak Mazumdar.

About Me

Innovative CFD researcher with experience in complex R&D projects involving multi-phase fluid flow, heat transfer, solidification, magnetohydrodynamics, species transport, and turbulent modeling. Currently, I am working on fluid flow, heat transfer and solidification in continuous bloom caster. Effect of external forces i.e. Lorentz force (Magnetohydrodynamic) is also being evaluated on the fluid flow.  Subsequently, my projects will also include gas-liquid mass transfer and reactions in steel processing.

Skilled at ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, Salome (geometry & mesh generation) tools and have good programming skills (C/C++). Hands on experienced in building prediction models (regression and classification) using statistical (Regression) and machine learning techniques (i.e. ANN, Decision Trees, KNN etc..) and implementation in full scale plants.
