I am a Senior Research Fellow at Southern African Social Policy Research Insights (SASPRI), UK.
My research centres on applied comparative social policy, with a particular focus on how tax-benefit systems shape income distribution and alleviate poverty in both European and low- and middle-income countries.
My recent work explores the intersection of social and climate policy, with a strong interest in the differential impacts on vulnerable population groups. I am committed to contributing to evidence-based policymaking through policy-relevant research.
I have extensive experience in the design and application of tax-benefit microsimulation models and the advanced analysis of cross-sectional, panel, and administrative data. I am passionate about coding and the visualisation of results.
I hold a PhD in Applied Social and Economic Research from the Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER) at the University of Essex (UK).
Prior to joining SASPRI, I held research positions at ISER, the European Centre for Welfare Policy and Research, and the Institute for Advanced Studies. I have also worked as a consultant for the World Bank and the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.
