I am an Associate Professor in Economics at NTNU in Trondheim.
Before, I was postdoctoral fellow at the University of Potsdam and the Berlin School of Economics (BSoE). I am affiliated with the Center for Economic Policy Analysis (CEPA), the University of Potsdam, the Berlin Network of Labor Market Research (BeNA), IZA@LISER and the University of Passau, where I also attained my Ph.D.
My main research fields are labor economics, family economics, gender economics and policy evaluation. I am also interested in different topics in applied microeconomics in general.
My research evolves around the question of how households and families are affected by labor market shocks or policy reforms, with a particular focus on the resulting inequalities at different levels (e.g., between and within households, regional differences, socio-demographic differences). I am particularly interested in gaining a deeper understanding of gender inequalities in the labor market. Furthermore, as member of the BSoE Research Unit on Labour Market Transformation: Scarcity, Mismatch and Policy, another focus is on human capital investment during working life in the face of a rapidly changing labor market, with a particular emphasis on the interaction of workers, firms and managers in training decisions.
