I am an undergraduate journalism student from Atlanta, Georgia. I am studying at Grady College of Mass Communication and Journalism at the University of Georgia, specializing in photojournalism, and am minoring in ecology and Spanish.
I have had a wide variety of professional and educational experiences, both media-related and not. I am currently working as a Legacy Video Coach for Inheritance of Hope, a nonprofit organization that serves families facing the loss of a parent to terminal illness. In this role, I interview terminally ill clients and record and edit a video that they can leave for their families. I also volunteer with Inheritance of Hope as a family volunteer on their retreats. I am also a photo contributor at the Red and Black, an independent, student-led, nonprofit news organization in Athens, Georgia.
I have participated in three study abroad programs during my time at the University of Georgia, spending time in Cuba, England, and throughout the South Pacific. I was previously a wildlife science major and worked as an animal care intern at Bear Hollow Zoo and attended zookeeping programs at Busch Gardens.
Career-wise, I hope to work in a creative role covering nature, travel, and adventure. I have always been passionate about the environment, especially wildlife. I was also exposed to traveling at a young age and have been to every continent except for Antarctica. I love to learn about new cultures and histories. I hope to share my passions and educate others about the world and the environment in a variety of mediums.
Outside of journalism, I am a center and assistant team captain on the University of Georgia women's club hockey team, and serve as the Vice President of Finance on our player board. I also occasionally attend trips with the Outdoor Adventure Club.
