Raphtalia is prisoner in a castle, her jailor warning that she'll be soon handed over to Kyo. She thinks about Naofumi and vows to survive long enough to rejoin him. She tries to escape, but her cell bars are magically made to drain her power if she attempts to escape. She sees that Glass, L'Arc and Therese are prisoners too, in the same cell.

Raphtalia doesn't trust them as they are Naofumi's enemies but agrees to make a truce for the time being in order to avenge Ost's death, stop Kyo and retrieve the Spirit Tortoise's power. The tanuki girl recounts how Naofumi's party ended up in the Infinite Labyrinth but managed to escape bringing Kizuna along. According to L'Arc, they are trapped inside the Prison of Exhaustion, a place designed to drain and tire all prisoners inside, the guards having their powers augmented via magical talismans - and the effects are even worse on Spirit people, for it drains their very life force. Moreover, Vassal Weapons cannot be taken away from their users, just like the Cardinal Weapons. Even with her weakened powers, Raphtalia rapidly devises an escape plan (she uses her illusion magic to trick the guard into opening the cell door, then steals his magic talisman and fires a golden magic beam through the wall) and they go into the nearby forest, intending to reach Sikul. Next day, walking in disguise, the group agrees to reach Raybul's Dragon Hourglass so they'll meet Kizuna and Naofumi at Sikul much faster. Therese reveals some gems she hid in her clothes, allowing them to purchase new clothes and give Raphtalia food - lots of it. Later, they practice some level grinding, and L'Arc notices Raphtalia's body has grown some more. Night falls and Glass tailors the tanuki girl's kimono to better fit her size, and she casually comments about Kizuna's haori, much to Glass's happiness. Next day, they notice that near the Dragon Hourglass is happening at Raybul a contest to select the new owner of the Vassal Katana. Among the candidates, the group sees "genius mage" Kazuki, but as he prepares to unsheathe the Katana, the weapon immediately repels him... and instantly goes to Raphtalia's hands, leaving her completely bewildered.

Kazuki accuses Raphtalia of stealing "his" katana and sends the guards to capture her. They also notice that Raphtalia wielding the Vassal Katana instantly erased her slave crest. The tanuki girl departs from Glass's party carrying the katana, with the guards in pursuit, and then she notices the Katana's power completely restoring her adult body. Reassuring her vow to return to Naofumi's side, she manages to arrive at a huge Shinto-style shrine, where she's greeted by the local miko (shrine maiden), who leads her inside. The miko strips her naked, embarrassing her, but then gives her new clothes and explains her clan served the Katana Hero for several generations. As she leaves the shrine, Kazuki and his guards arrive, demanding the Vassal Katana and intending even to kill Raphtalia if she doesn't give up her weapon. Kazuki feels outraged when Raphtalia compares him to Kyo and presents her with two clones of Byakko (white tiger) Guardian Beast, whom Raphtalia kills very easily. Kazuki still doesn't give up, but Raphtalia rapidly immobilizes him via Instant Blade: Mist, opening a near-lethal wound on his chest. Kazuki explains he needs the Vassal Katana in order to overthrow Kyo, but Raphtalia serenely warns him that the Shield Hero is coming to get revenge for Ost and departs ignoring Kazuki's pleas completely.

Outside the shrine, Raphtalia sees herself cornered by an even bigger Byakko clone, but she's too weak to fight it. Suddenly she notices Naofumi, Filo, Rishia, and Kizuna coming to her rescue and killing the tiger clone effortlessly. Rahtalia notices how happy Naofumi is to see her again. Even without her slave crest, Raphtalia is more than happy to see her party again as she warmly hugs Naofumi.

This small group of skilled swordsmen know this and each has devoted himself to the perfection of his art. Their unbreakable morale and skill is legendary and inspirational. The controlled frenzy of katana sensei also adds to their ferocity, increasing their speed and power when fighting. However, their small numbers do mean they are more vulnerable to being outnumbered by an enemy unit.

Like other hero units, Katana Heroes are limited to one regiment, and have a scant number of men. They make up for this with superlatively good statistics, boasting superb attack, defense, charge, and morale. Their morale of 40 means that they often fight to the last man, should the need arise. Their armor is a cut above that of Katana Samurai, making bow fire less effective against them. However, their limited numbers make them vulnerable to armor-piercing matchlocks, and their status as katana infantry makes them vulnerable to cavalry despite their superior attributes.

Katana's Divine Avalanche gives a reasonable case to easily soft cap melee, which leads me to think pairing with a resistance based powerset (which means either Brute or Tanker, because 90% is a world higher than 75% res caps) would present a great entry into layering defenses.

You could go Invuln, elec, fire, dark, rad, etc for this purpose based on other factors you may consider regarding power interactions or theme. I actually have a DA/Katana Tanker that built for melee on top of having very high resistances.

Kat/Ninja scrapper is a nice one as mentioned (and thematic). The melee defense of divine avalanche matches nicely as noted (instead of only stacking lethal). Also, probably the main weakness of ninja is its lackluster DDR. So, being able to overcap melee defense is nice when you get hit with those defense debuffs.

I do tend to prefer katana on a scrapper in general due to the natural extra bonus crit chance golden dragonfly gets. I don't think any other AT gets anything extra. But not a big enough deal that other AT's wouldn't do fine with it.

Dungeon is a building in Territory. The Dungeon building makes the Dungeon tab and Cultist (Bourse section) available. The Dungeon can be upgraded to maximum lvl. 5. To build the Dungeon, character lvl. 10 is required.

Bestiary is a feature for the dungeon, which allows to see enemy stats/parameters, abilities and loot once an enemy has been defeated enough times. Accessible from Dungeon menu, it displays the list of discovered dungeon/forest levels. Each level has their own enemies and enemies' stats.

Each level shows the list of enemies, initially concealed. When hero defeats an enemy in dungeon/forest, the corresponding entry becomes more detailed and the image becomes better visible. Each non-boss enemy must be defeated 20 times to reveal full information. Boss enemies must be defeated 10 times to reveal full information. When an enemy is defeated said number of times, a small animation is briefly shown on the top right, portraying the rabbit at the top of the bestiary list blowing its bugle.

Bosses in #A and #B levels appear as weaker versions in deeper levels of the same dungeon (i.e. 5A boss appears as a weaker version in 5B and 5C, and 1B boss in 1C, for instance). This is denoted by the level in which they first appear in the top left corner of the enemy's image. Also, in level 5A there are weaker versions of the 5A boss that appear in the same room as the boss; they are marked by two smaller "boss icons" in the Bestiary, and have more health (but no summoning ability) than the boss's weaker version from 5B and 5C. Finally, there are a few other variations of enemies, such as the Emerelf Guardians and Rangers found in #C when secret gates to the forest are to be found, the Bone dragon when part of a quest (Undead Revenge and Experiments of the Dark Lady) and the Skeleton shieldmen it summons, the Mushrooyoungsters, and the different Gnollferatu variants all across F* levels, which have varying stats and/or abilities. Some of these do not appear on the corresponding bestiaries. More info on these variants will follow when the complete bestiary is fully researched...

There are 20 heroes to choose from, before going into the dungeon. These heroes only differentiate between each other in how they look, otherwise they have the same parameters at the start, level up the same way and have same parameters at same levels. The reason the player would choose a different hero, would be because other heroes are resting.

The "Favorites" section allows to sort heroes in any order set by the player (first hero added -> first place, second hero added -> second place, etc.). Favorite heroes can be set by tapping on the empty favorite icon. This then adds the hero to the "Favorites" section (indicated with the favorite icon). There's no limit how many heroes can be in "Favorites". While in "All" section heroes can be removed from favorites by tapping on the favorite icon. 152ee80cbc
