Shefali Zariwala has featured in several music videos but she became a household name after her 2002 video album Kaanta Laga. Shefali has also appeared in a special role in Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra's film Mujhse Shaadi Krogi. Other than the aforementioned video album and film, Shefali Zariwala has featured in the remix versions of the songs Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar and Maal Bhari Aahe, as well as in Meet Bros' music video Pyaar Humaayn Kis Mod Pe Le Aaya. She was last seen in the 2011 Kannada film Hudugaru.

Shefali Jariwala was studying engineering when director duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru spotted her outside college and offered her the music video of the Kaanta Laga remix. With its success, she became a household name and decided to pursue a career in showbiz.

Let us talk about the Indian remix music videos for a while. They are on 24 hours a day. Recently, I came across this girl clad in almost nothing, with the seat of her jeans ripped off (for "style"). She was dancing in a flashy club with some girl friends, while there were all these men eyeing them. The trend seems to have started with the infamous song "Kanta Laga", but compared to what is on these days, "Kanta Laga" was nothing. What is worse is the fact that many Bangla cinema songs have started taking that route. The adults can only thank God that they are not on till late at night, when the children are safely put to bed. But how long will it be when these programs are aired more openly?
