Welcome to the web page of Dr. ir. Karthik Raghavan Ramaswamy. You can find more about me and my research activities here.
I was born in Chennai, India in 1989. I received my Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics (Academic topper and Outstanding student) in 2011 from Anna University, India (studied at Crescent Engineering College, Vandalur). I finished my bachelors as valedictorian of my class and was awarded the "Best Student" award. From 2011 to 2015, I worked at L&T Kobelco, a joint venture between Larsen & Toubro and Kobe steel, as a Control and Automation design engineer for Heavy machinery. In 2014, I obtained my M.B.A degree from Annamalai University. I received my M.Sc. degree in Systems and Control (with great appreciation) at the Eindhoven University of Technology in 2017 and my Ph.D. with cum laude (honors) at the Eindhoven University of Technology in 2022.
In my Ph.D. research, my primal objective was to develop scalable and computationally less complex identification methods/algorithms for finding accurate models of subsystems in a dynamic network using supervised machine learning, Bayesian methods, system identification, and signal processing. As a result, my doctoral dissertation has successfully provided a practical guide to learning interconnected systems in a complex dynamic network.
Apart from academia, I play sports including Badminton, Basket ball and Table tennis. Highly interested in entertainment stage shows and has performed in numerous theatrical acts as Crescent Team Dramatix, which also includes participation at GOT Talent show (India's Got Talent) .
