Theadeinos:
Makaria, the daughter of Hecate, was raised in her Mother’s house and academy both her daughter and student. Her childhood was dotted with occasional visits to the House of Hades and occasonally interacting with her cousins with her cousins (Kar and Than are the similar in age.)
She is talented with magic, but also had a knack for experimentation and science/engineering, to which her mother invited Daedalus to tutor her inventive daughter in her youth and adolescence.
As she grew older, she would start going by “Kar” and insistent about being called so. (The younger Chthonics and Aunt Persephone oblige her, Hecate tries but often forgets.)
In time, she would be requested to have an audience with the Fates. Whatever had passed in that meeting is between her and the Fates.
Returning, she would shift to her duties as a fully fledged goddess. She would serve as the Fates’ envoy and share psychopomp duties with Thanatos. As the goddess of “Blessed Death” it is her duty to claim the souls of heroes and pious. And with that duty leaves her to frequent the House of Hades and Elysium.
When not on duty, she spends her time studying and still corresponding with master Daedalus, taking the data from Zagreus’ escape attempts and improving the Underworld.
Kar is also known to draw, paint, tinker and invent things, making art and little automatons as gifts for her family. She loves music but tends to keep that to herself, or trusted friends.
Azonos:
(Sidebar: I am willing to merge this with her main verse's timeline if interested.)
Limbo. Purgatory. The Crossroads. Erebus. Many names for the spaces in between. Lady Makaria Polyeidos (Kar as she’ll insist), is the ruler of this domain. Or at the very least serves as its public facing representative– the Liminal Lady, the Law in Limbo, the Patroness of Purgatory.
She is a lesser royal of the Chthonics, Daughter of the House of Hecate, a vassal of the Hadean Court, and an intimate of the Fates. Envoy of the Unknown, she works with the realms on the orders of the Fates, and is technically neutral party.
Technically.
Off the record? Let’s say she may have some biases.
Underneath that façade of diplomatic neutrality shows a keen and intelligent power broker. A good friend or terrible enemy to have. But where does everyone fall?
The concept of Redemption is an anomaly to her; all souls, sinner or saint wind up in the Domain of Hades. The fact that one can transcend to another realm is a curiosity she’d love to explore. Mainly the implications: if one can find their way out of Hell, can a shade overcome Asphodel and wind up in Elysium? The thought intrigues her.
It doesn’t hurt that Infernal Realm is much more livelier place than Tartarus, and she’d found it amusing to visit often. Sometimes more than that, rumor has it she’s been known on occasion guest deejay or perform at some clubs throughout the realm.
Nekyia:
Makaria “Kar” Polydeidos, Princess of the House of Hecate and Heir to the realm of Erebus is a little more modern minded than the rest of the Underworld. As a liminal goddess and psychopomp, she’s one of the few Chthonics that can visit the mortal realm and absorb their culture whenever she visits.
Unfortunately Lord Hades is set in his ways; and has no real intention to change with the eons, still a parchment-and-lamplight type. As the daughter of Hecate, Kar will eventually inherit her duties as overseeing parts of the underworld and liminal spaces, like the riverbanks of the Styx where the souls unable to pay Charon reside. Like her mother though, she does have command (albeit limited) over the denizens of Erebus.
And Kar has plans. However it would be quite some time before anything could happen. Leaving Kar feeling stuck and stagnant.
Somewhere along the lines, she and Prince of the Devildom Diavolo meet in the mortal realm and become pen pals of a kind. In as much as she could. When Diavolo mentioned his exchange program she was all too eager to jump in on it.
Unlike the MC, Kar has her own small apartment, even though she was offered the full hospitality expected for foreign dignitaries, Kar was happy being just a “regular” being.
In the academy, she’s just “Kar”, and gets uncomfortable when certain people insist on treating her by her rank.
Kar works in the library, and occasionally tutors, or takes advantage of the space for her own research. She also is known to deejay at several nightclubs as Madame X (A nod to a painting in the mortal world she likes) as a side hustle.
Astrodia:
Makaria Polyeidos, Princess of the House of Hecate, Lady of the Liminal, Queen of the Crossroads– yadda, yadda yadda. Kar (as she prefers to be called) is an interesting child. Her mother didn’t spoil her, per se but she wasn’t denied wishes either. A studious child, she was tutored by the shades of greatest thinkers and inventors, a well rounded education in arts, sciences, and of course combat.
While her home was a palace along the River Styx, Hecate and by virtue, free to travel between the domains of mortal, god, and everywhere in between, it is no surprise Kar could be seen frequently elsewhere in the cosmos, fascinated by, well, everything.
Mortals were no exception, often wandering around in mortal form to enjoy what the day had to offer.
As the goddess of the blessed dead, she is the psychopomp to heroes and the most worthy, leaving them to their fate at the Styx, only to later greet them in Elysium, interceding in the minor affairs of the shades there on the behalf of her much overworked Uncle.
She is more modern-minded than some of her colleagues, enjoying the ingenuity of mortals. Easy-going with a bit of snarky streak, it is hard to believe is far more formidable than she lets on…
