I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. I have designed structures, streetscapes, underground pipelines, and worked in construction management. I always found my passion in the arts. I was dedicated to developing my art throughout my engineering career.
I have been drawing my entire life. I was about 8 years old when I discovered a box of oil pastels; it inspired me to explore color. I started portrait drawing early in my childhood. I find drawing and painting the human figure fascinating. I have studied oil painting, pastels, and watercolors. I discovered writing and illustrating children's books to be a fulfilling way to express my art.

This is a story about a Rockhopper Penguin in the Falkland Islands, who finds a Rubber Ducky in the ocean and becomes good friends.
I want to broadcast two messages with my book "Rocky Penguin and the Rubber Ducky." I want educate the reader about the endangered Rockhopper Penguins and the issue of plastic waste in our oceans.
This is a work-in-progress. "Making Jong Che" is a picture book story about a young Asian girl who is excited to make a traditional Sticky Rice Dumpling with her Mom, every year. The illustrations include Asian motifs throughout, allowing the reader to better experience the culture.
"Making Jong Che" manuscript was a winner of the SCBWI Equity and Inclusion Awards in 2022.
I am very excited about this work-in-progress. "After You Flush" is a nonfiction picture book, educating children about the sanitary sewer system. It begins when you flush and describes how the wastewater is treated at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Most kids have been misled into believing when you flush a fish down the toilet, it will end up in the ocean. That is not true!
This is a prequel to "Rocky Penguin and a Rubber Ducky." Rocky Penguin discovers a box of socks in a grassy area, and it is an adventure of learning colors and shapes. The children's picture book is perfect for a beginner reader too. I have included native plants from the Falkland Islands, throughout the book. The book will be launched in 2026!
