This policy explains how the OverPen Android application uses data and device permissions.
OverPen does not create user accounts. The app's own code does not send personal data to a developer-operated server; it contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDK and does not request Android internet permission. The Google Play review flow is described separately below.
Pen colours, thicknesses, saved pens, toolbar layout, language selection, usage counters that schedule the review flow and other application preferences are stored only in the app's private area on the device. Drawings in progress are kept in device memory only during the active drawing session and are not saved to a file.
To support local error diagnosis, OverPen may also write the thread name and technical stack trace of the latest uncaught error to one file in that private area; a new record replaces the previous one. This information is not sent to a developer-operated server.
Automatic cloud backup and device-to-device transfer of OverPen's application data are disabled. Users can delete this local information by clearing the app's storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app.
The “display over other apps” special access is used only to show the user-started toolbar and drawing layer over another application. Android keeps the foreground service visible through a notification, and the user can stop it from the app, the notification or the Quick Settings tile.
The current version of OverPen does not capture, save or manage screenshots. It does not request Android MediaProjection screen-capture access or storage permission.
If the user takes a screenshot with the device's own controls, Android and the device manufacturer handle that operation; OverPen does not access or manage the resulting file.
PNG files created by older versions of OverPen may remain in the device's Pictures/OverPen folder. The current version does not list, open or delete these older files. Users can manage and delete them with a Gallery or Files application.
Uninstalling OverPen may not remove these files automatically. Google Photos or another backup service enabled by the device owner may also have synced them independently of OverPen.
The user can open OverPen's store listing with the “Rate on Google Play” button on the main screen or use Google's In-App Review flow after eligible use.
Google Play collects and processes the user's rating and review text under its own platform terms and privacy policy. A review may be published publicly on Google Play or, during a closed test, shared privately with the developer. Users can delete their review through the Google Play Store or their Google Account.
OverPen does not read the rating or review text in the app, save it in its own files or send it to a developer-operated server.
OverPen directly requests these four Android system permissions in the current version:
android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW
android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE
android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS
These permissions support the visible drawing overlay, its special-use foreground service and the service notification on supported Android versions.
The app does not request screen-capture, broad storage, location, contacts, camera, microphone or internet permission.
OverPen's own code does not ask children for personal data, read such data in the app or send it to a developer-operated server.
User choices in the Google Play review flow are processed by Google Play as described above. The publisher separately keeps the Google Play target-audience declaration consistent with the app's actual audience.

The Karaoglu Studio website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand website usage and measure content performance. Google Analytics may process page views, scrolls, outbound-link clicks, approximate location, browser and device information, and may use first-party cookies such as _ga to distinguish visits.
