My research is at the intersection of Economic Development, Political Economy, and Public Economics and seeks to understand the role of institutions (economic, political, social), government policies (e.g., decentralization), political accountability (e.g., state capacity), conflict (e.g., religious), and geography (e.g., proximity to administration centers) in influencing economic development and growth within developing countries, with India as a leading example.
