Kapila W. S. Palitharathna (Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. Eng. (Hons.) and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, in 2016, and in 2022. He is currently a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the IRIDA Research Centre for Communication Technologies, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), University of Cyprus. He has worked as a Research Assistant, a Senior Lecturer, and the Head of the Department (Telecommunication) at the Sri Lanka Technological Campus, Sri Lanka, from 2018 to 2023. He also worked as an Instructor at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, from 2016 to 2017. His research interests include visible light communication, underwater optical wireless communication, non-orthogonal multiple access, intelligent reflecting surfaces, energy harvesting communications, and machine learning for communication.
