Synthetic Biology and BioProcess Engineering Lab

Synthetic Biology and Bioprocess Engineering Lab at Kyunghee University (KHU) is an innovative laboratory developing synthetic biology and bioprocess engineering to resolve various environmental issues using microorganisms. We develop bioprocesses with photosynthetic and fermentable microorganisms to produce diverse value-added products, such as fuels, chemicals, plastics, cosmetics, food ingredients, and pharmaceuticals, from greenhouse gases and lignocellulosic biomass. We handle them with metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, cultivation and fermentation engineering, metabolic flux analysis, and techno-economic analysis.
