Our lab focuses on soft matter questions inspired by the wonders of living matter, with a passion for directly watching their dynamic behaviors unfold. By weaving together physics, materials science, and colloid science, we strive to uncover the hidden principles that shape complex, life-like materials.
Curiosity drives every project we take on. Inspired by nature’s genius, we craft colloidal systems modeled after biomolecules and microswimmers, diving deep into how they move, interact, and self-organize—especially when pushed far from equilibrium. We’re captivated by how emergent structures and dynamics arise from single particles. To decode these processes, we don’t just observe under the microscope, we build custom computational tools that turn fascinating microscopy videos into meaningful quantitative data.
Positions Available for Graduate, Masters and Undergraduate students. We are always on a look out for enthusiastic students to work in our group.
Current Projects: Bio-inspired colloid assembly, active colloids and Biofilms.
