Kamalesh Jana

I am Kamalesh Jana, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India. Before joining IIT Kharagpur, I worked briefly as a postdoctoral researcher at TIFR Hyderabad. Prior to that, I spent nearly six years as a postdoctoral fellow in the Joint Attosecond Science Laboratory (JASLab) at the University of Ottawa and the National Research Council Canada, working with Prof. Paul Corkum. There, my research focused on the coherent control of ultrafast photocurrents and the generation of terahertz (THz) magnetic fields using ultrashort laser pulses. I received my Ph.D. degree in Physics from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, India, in 2019. During my Ph D, I worked under the supervision of  Prof. G. Ravindra Kumar at the Ultrashort Pulse High Intensity Laser Laboratory (UPHILL), TIFR, where I worked on high-intensity femtosecond laser-matter interaction.
