RESEARCH FOCUS

My main research interests are in the areas of big data analysis and knowledge management, and cloud computing system. I am currently working on big data and its applications in computational electromagnetic.

Biography

Khulud Alsultan is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science and Telecommunication and Computer Networking at University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). Her primary advisor is Dr. Praveen Rao, and her co-advisor is Dr. Ahmed Hassan. She completed her Master’s in Computer Science at Kent State University. She is a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Her research interests are in big data and data analysis. At UMKC, she is a Graduate Research Assistant, and a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Her research is published in big data and its applications in healthcare and electrical engineering. She also served as an external reviewer for several conferences, such as BEXA 2019 and BDA 2019.

Besides doing research, she joined the Preparing Future Faculty program (PFF) at UMKC in 2018. The PFF program is a graduate certificate in college teaching and career preparation. It prepares a graduate student to become an excellent professor at diverse higher education institutions. After she graduates, in addition to teaching, she would like to contribute to KSU by developing faculty through workshops in learning and teaching strategies.
