32-bit compilation native and cross-compilation is removed from CUDA 12.0 and later Toolkit. Use the CUDA Toolkit from earlier releases for 32-bit compilation. CUDA Driver will continue to support running 32-bit application binaries on GeForce GPUs until Ada. Ada will be the last architecture with driver support for 32-bit applications. Hopper does not support 32-bit applications.

TCC is enabled by default on most recent NVIDIA Tesla GPUs. To check which driver mode is in use and/or to switch driver modes, use the nvidia-smi tool that is included with the NVIDIA Driver installation (see nvidia-smi -h for details).

I don't really know what is that, but I am installing a Python A.I that uses this. I am trying to update my CUDA for 3 hours. I already tried to download the CUDA toolkit, but it was no use. I installed that but happened nothing. I need to update my CUDA driver. Now the current version is 9.1.84, I need 10.2. Please, someone, help me.

2019-06-23: Recent updates with either the CUDA 10.0 or 10.1 versions the NVIDIA 418.67 driver, that installs with it, no longer has the 32bit libraries included and this will cause Steam and most games to no longer work. The version of libnvidia-gl-418:i386 only installs the 418.56 version which will not work with the 418.67 driver. Hopefully NVIDIA will release an update for that soon. I have added the info at the bottom of this answer in the .run file install part of how to download just the run file for the CUDA installer then you can use whatever driver you want. The run file is 2.3GB in size, so it might take a bit to download.

For me, this was the only way to get both the nvidia driver I wanted, and the version of cuda that i wanted while still being able to use nvidia-smi and nvidia-settings. If I installed nvidia-cuda-toolkit instead, it would uninstall the utils and driver that I selected and disable nvidia-smi.

I am using CUDA.net for interop with C# and it is built as a copy of the driver API. This encourages writing a lot of rather complex code in C# while the C++ equivalent would be more simple using the runtime API. Is there anything to win by doing it this way? The one benefit I can see is that it is easier to integrate intelligent error handling with the rest of the C# code.

The CUDA runtime makes it possible to compile and link your CUDA kernels into executables. This means that you don't have to distribute cubin files with your application, or deal with loading them through the driver API. As you have noted, it is generally easier to use.

Apparently more detailed device information can be queried through the driver API than through the runtime API. For instance, the free memory available on the device can be queried only through the driver API.

In contrast, the CUDA driver API requires more code, is harder to program and debug, but offers a better level of control and is language-independent since it only deals with cubin objects (see Section 4.2.5). Additional data. I reverted my driver version in Windows 10 device manager. nvidia-smi shows driver 442.23 and cuda version 10.2. With Nsight Systems 2020.2 I observe I can get CPU details, but no GPU details. Error in Nsight Systems is "

Incompatible CUDA driver version. Please try updating the CUDA driver or use more recent profiler version."

So, for this work properly, after a clean uninstall and install Quadro & GeForce MacOS Driver Release we should not install the latest driver CUDA 9.0.222 driver for Mac and instead install the older CUDA 9.0.214 driver for Mac. Is that correct?

Before this I have already tried uninstalling all Nvidia software from this PC and reinstalling only this older version of CUDA and the up-to-date graphics drivers for my GPU, but it looks like this may be confusing something along the way.

Very recently, there were issues reported about modular filtering which came into the picture due to the presence of multiple sources to fetch the drivers from, causing dnf to not be able to resolve dependencies properly and call out for broken dependencies even though I have investigated the sources to conclude that there are no issues present there.

From what @boistordu was able to deduce, this enables a module which includes packages like akmod-nvidia and its dependencies. So at any point of time, if someone executes the following - it would look up those packages in the list of enabled modules, which now includes the one for rpmfusion-nonfree-nvidia-driver module as well.

The above command would run just fine on a fresh installation and upgraded installations, having only the rpmfusion-nonfree-nvidia-driver module enabled but not so on those having both the rpmfusion-nonfree-nvidia-driver and cuda-fedora33 modules enabled (observed on Fedora 34, so the behaviour still needs investigation for Fedora 33). Attempting to install the drivers or upgrading them would most likely result in the following output (Command-line excerpt provided by @boistordu).

So what exactly is happening here? The device on which the drivers are attempted to be installed has had rpmfusion-nonfree-nvidia-driver module enabled first, and then the cuda-fedora33 module was enabled due to which an attempt to fetch one of the akmod-nvidia dependencies (called xorg-x11-drv-nvidia) could not come to fruition. One might say that the inability to find xorg-x11-drv-nvidia makes no sense as it is present with the rpmfusion-nonfree-nvidia-driver module, which is in fact, enabled here.

The current working directory for me is /etc/yum.repos.d. This article about adding and remove software repositories in Fedora (which you can find here) states that this is where the repositories are located.
