How to Restore Your Asus Eee PC Using a Ghost Image File

Steps to Follow


Plug your USB flash drive into the computer with Symantec Ghost 32 and format it as FAT32 using the Format Disk Tool. You can download it from here.

Copy the Symantec Ghost 32 executable file (ghost32.exe) and the ghost image file (EEEPC-ENG.GHO) from the computer to the root folder of the USB flash drive.

Unplug the USB flash drive from the computer and plug it into your Eee PC.

Turn on your Eee PC and press F2 to enter the BIOS setup.

Go to the Boot tab and change the boot order so that the USB flash drive is the first boot device. Save and exit the BIOS setup.

Your Eee PC will boot from the USB flash drive and launch Symantec Ghost 32.

Select Local > Disk > From Image from the menu bar.

Browse to the ghost image file (EEEPC-ENG.GHO) on the USB flash drive and select it.

Select OK to proceed with the restoration process.

Select your Eee PC's hard drive as the destination drive and click OK.

When the restoration process is done, click OK and exit Symantec Ghost 32.

Unplug the USB flash drive from your Eee PC and turn off your netbook.

Turn on your Eee PC again and press F2 to enter the BIOS setup.

Go to the Boot tab and change the boot order back to its original settings. Save and exit the BIOS setup.
