Remember the parents of the puppies (Beau, Dancer and Maehlie and now Gypsy!) have been OFA tested/certified. You can not test your puppy yet (they need to be mature). But these OFA clearances, reassure you that the parents are not carrying genetic problems) and therefore the pups should not have those issues (hip dysplasia, elbow problems, heart or eye issues) the other tests are dna and again show no genetic issues with retina, ICT, and muscular dystrophy.
***No matter what color or style of golden pulls at your heartstrings, verify that both parents have at the minimum hip, heart, eye, and elbow completed by board certified experts with orthopedic clearances sent into OFA. That is minimal due diligence for anyone who wants to breed a golden retriever. In searching for a family dog who will be your beloved pet in your forever home, you should expect any breeder you choose to reach all of these benchmarks. All my dogs have the main 4 clearances and their "Chick" number :) Pedigrees available on k9data.com type in their registered name and photos, pedigree and OFAs come up.
