DocsBox ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is a document utility
application provided by Kaal. This Privacy Policy
explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and the choices
you have. By using DocsBox, you agree to the practices described in this
policy.
1. Summary
DocsBox is designed to work on your device. The documents you open, view,
edit, convert, scan, or create are processed locally on your device and
are not uploaded to us or to any server we control. We do not require you
to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, or phone
number to use the App. The App displays advertisements, and our
advertising partner may collect certain information as described below.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- The contents of your documents, files, images, or scans.
- Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address.
- Account credentials (the App has no login or user account).
All document processing — including viewing, editing, PDF operations,
annotations, conversions, and scanning — happens entirely on your device.
3. Information Handled by Advertising
DocsBox is a free app supported by advertising. We use Google AdMob to
display ads. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and process
certain information automatically, which may include:
- Device information (such as device model, operating system version, and
language).
- A mobile advertising identifier (Advertising ID) and general,
non-precise location derived from your IP address.
- App interaction and ad-interaction data used to deliver, measure, and
improve advertising.
This information is collected directly by Google under Google's own
privacy policy. We do not receive the contents of your documents through

4. Your Consent Choices (Ads)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or
another region with applicable requirements, DocsBox will show you a
consent form (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before serving
personalized ads, allowing you to accept or decline. You can change or
withdraw your consent at any time from within the App's settings. Where
personalized ads are declined or unavailable, the App may still show
non-personalized ads.
You can also limit ad personalization on your device at any time:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads, where you can reset or delete your
Advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization.
5. Device Permissions
DocsBox may request the following permissions, only when needed for a
feature you use:
- Camera — to scan documents or capture images for conversion into files.
Captured images are processed on your device.
- Storage / Files access — to open documents you select and to save files
you create or export. The App only accesses the files you choose to open
or the locations where you choose to save.
- Biometric / Device credentials (if you enable app lock) — used solely to
lock and unlock the App on your device. Biometric data never leaves your
device and is handled by your device's operating system; we do not receive
or store it.
You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device
settings. Revoking a permission may disable the related feature.
7. Children's Privacy
DocsBox is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children
under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do
not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a
child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will
take appropriate action.
8. Data Retention and Security
Because your documents are processed and stored locally on your device,
their retention is controlled entirely by you — deleting a file from your
device removes it. Information handled by advertising (and analytics, if
enabled) is retained by Google according to Google's own policies. We
implement reasonable measures to protect the App, but no method of
electronic processing is completely secure.

revise the "Effective date" above and post the updated policy at this URL.
Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance
of the updated policy.
