How is King Avenue home to you?

Earlier this year we posed that very question and were blown away by the responses as it became apparent that King Avenue is what you may describe as – polymorphism - or the condition of occurring in several forms at once. Some answered that King Avenue was a where, or a physical place. For others, it is a when, or the length of time that has transpired. Still others stated why King Avenue was home. But the amazing thing was that no matter how people responded, the responses were always rooted in the actions of our members. So I would like to offer up this “answer” to a very complex and personal question.

Our home sweet church, King Avenue, is home because of you!

King Avenue is home because you love unconditionally, embrace others, and empower the marginalized. King Avenue is home because of your prayers, presence, and gifts. Your gifts provide a spiritual home where we can be authentic. Where we can truly share God’s love for others, Jesus and even ourselves. Where all are welcome. Where we can fulfill our mission.

This year take a moment to recognize that your gifts provide a home to us all. Please prayerfully consider your important role in supporting the home that is King Avenue. God’s vision for us can only be fulfilled with your support and all pledges, no matter the size, will make a difference, to our church and our community.

We will Celebrate our Stewardship on Sunday, October 23. Pledge cards will be received on Sunday, October 30

OPEN DOORS -- McManus

(Refrain) Open hearts, open minds, open doors,

we welcome all who seek to love the Lord.

Bring your joys, bring your burdens, all you rich and poor.

Open hearts, open minds, open hearts, open doors.

We gather here to praise and worship;

in our diversity we find a common ground.

We speak a language of one God, one love;

seek the Lord, sing God’s praise with joyful sound.
