K20A2 Exocet


Titled, registered and insured in Wisconsin as a 1965 Lotus 7 Replica. The build was completed in Sept of 2015 with a Mazda 1.8 BP motor. A completely rebuilt K20A2 was installed using the KMiata kit and completed in September of 2018. The car has done six track events with the K20 and holds Midwestern Council HSAX (track trials) C Race class records at three tracks.

General Info

The car was built from a 1996 Miata with 82K miles. The five speed transmission was replaced with a low mileage 6 speed with the K swap. The car has under 30 hours of use since the K20 swap.

  • Fixed mount Sparco V seats, Simpson camlock harnesses with anti-sub belts.
  • Vmaxx coilvers with sport springs (installed) and race springs, Exomotive shock mount spacers, adjustable sway bar end links
  • Porterfield R4S brake pads. NiCopp hard lines to the corners and braided stainless flex lines and proportioning valve.
  • Momo steering wheel on NRG quick release
  • Torsen limited slip differential
  • Manual steering rack from '94R Miata
  • SPA GP3 side mirrors, new 1/4" Lexan wind screen on order and to be installed Sept 2019
  • Custom welded 3" exhaust with straight through resonator and muffler
  • Analog oil pressure and temp gauges, voltmeter, USB port on console.
  • New brake master cylinder, clutch master and slave cylinders, braided clutch line
  • Traklite Holeshot 15x8 0 offset wheels, Hoosier A7s - 225/45
  • NASCAR COT wing
  • Koyo aluminum radiator
  • Flyin Miata side panel kit
  • The suspension was completely disassembled, media blasted, and painted. Full Prothane bushing kit, Hasport U88A motor mount bushings.

K20A2 Engine/Drivetrain

Completely refreshed with Mahle 12.7 pistons, Carrillo rods, new oil pump, timing chain, etc. The head was build by C&S Performance, Butler WI who are well known for building Honda race heads. King Motorsports performed break-in and tuning for E85. 231 WHP on their calibrated dyno.
