If you want open-ear awareness, multipoint convenience, and smart wear detection for calls, choose K KAIBOAUDIO Verse Plus; if you need longer battery life and a workout-focused fit, choose RockShine R1. For calls, the Verse Plus is my pick for its stated 10-hour talk-and-listen time and easy device switching, while the R1 makes the stronger case for extended sessions away from a charger.
K KAIBOAUDIO Verse Plus vs RockShine R1 at a Glance
• K KAIBOAUDIO Verse Plus: True bone-conduction, open-ear listening with multipoint pairing, touch controls, and wear detection; its stated battery life is shorter than the R1’s.
• RockShine R1: Up to 12 hours of playtime, Bluetooth 5.3, and a sweat-resistant sports design; the listed features do not include wear detection or touch controls.
• Choose the Verse Plus for calls and switching between work and personal devices. Choose the R1 for longer listening sessions and an exercise-centered design.
The Verse Plus is an open-ear bone-conduction headset designed to let you listen while staying aware of your surroundings. That makes it a sensible format for walking, working at a desk, or handling calls while you still want to hear activity around you. It uses Bluetooth 5.2 and supports multipoint pairing, so you can connect it to more than one device and move between them.
For calls, the practical combination is its stated up-to-10-hour talk-and-listen battery life, touch controls, and wearable detection. The controls let you manage calls and audio without reaching for your phone, while the sensors are intended to pause playback when you remove the headset and resume when you put it back on. A full USB-C charge takes 1.5 hours.

The RockShine R1 is also an open-ear bone-conduction headset, but its feature set leans more clearly toward workouts and outdoor movement. Its flexible ear-hook design is described as intended to stay in place during exercise, and its sweatproof, water-resistant construction suits activities where perspiration or moisture is a concern. Those details make it a natural fit for running, cycling, and gym sessions.
The R1’s strongest practical advantage is battery endurance: it lists up to 12 hours of continuous playtime and a one-hour charge time. Bluetooth 5.3 and multipoint pairing support connections to two devices simultaneously, including switching between a phone call and audio from a laptop. It also has a built-in microphone for hands-free calls.
I’d choose the R1 if workouts, a secure ear-hook style, and longer playtime matter most. Its listed controls are buttons, rather than the Verse Plus’s smart touch controls, and the product details do not mention wear-detection sensors. Like the Verse Plus, it lists no noise control, so it is not the choice for someone seeking noise-canceling gaming headphones for calls.
• Best fit for calls across a workday → K KAIBOAUDIO Verse Plus. Its stated battery figure covers up to 10 hours of listening and talking, and multipoint pairing helps when you move between devices.
• Best for longer continuous playback → RockShine R1. It lists up to 12 hours, compared with the Verse Plus’s 10-hour battery figure.
• Best for automatic playback behavior → K KAIBOAUDIO Verse Plus. Wearable detection is specifically listed to help manage playback when you take the headset off and put it back on.
• Best for workouts and an ear-hook design → RockShine R1. Its flexible ear-hook frame is described as secure for movement, and its construction is intended to handle sweat and water exposure.
• Best for touch-based controls → K KAIBOAUDIO Verse Plus. Its smart touch controls cover audio and call management; the R1 uses button controls.
• Best for a quicker stated full charge → RockShine R1. Its listed charge time is one hour, while the Verse Plus lists 1.5 hours.
• Best open-ear headphones for calls when device switching matters → K KAIBOAUDIO Verse Plus. Both products have multipoint pairing, but the Verse Plus adds touch control and wear detection to that use case.
• Best for a call-and-workout mix with a stated microphone → RockShine R1. It explicitly lists a built-in microphone for hands-free calling, alongside its sport-oriented design.
There is no clear winner on every call-related point. Both are open-ear bone-conduction headphones, both support multipoint pairing, and both list no noise control. The Verse Plus gives more attention to touch interaction and wear sensing; the R1 gives more attention to fit for activity and longer playback. If you work in a noisy place and need isolation, neither spec sheet establishes that either headset will provide it.
The phrase “rotatable ear cups on-ear headphones for calls” points to a different kind of headset than these products. Neither model is described as having ear cups: both use open-ear bone-conduction designs. So if your priority is rotatable cups or an enclosed listening experience, these are not direct matches.
I’d buy the K KAIBOAUDIO Verse Plus for calls because its open-ear design, multipoint pairing, touch controls, and wear detection make a useful combination for moving between devices during the day. Its listed 10-hour talk-and-listen time is substantial, even if the R1 lasts longer on a charge. I’d choose the RockShine R1 instead if workouts and maximum listed playback time were my priorities.
Both support multipoint pairing, and the R1 lists a built-in microphone for hands-free calls. The Verse Plus lists up to 10 hours of talk and listening, plus touch controls and wear detection. Choose based on which of those features matters most to your routine.
Neither product lists noise control. Their open-ear design keeps your ears uncovered, but the listed features do not promise noise cancellation or background-noise reduction.
The RockShine R1 lists up to 12 hours of continuous playtime. The Verse Plus lists up to 10 hours of listening and talking, and a full charge takes 1.5 hours; the R1 lists a one-hour charge time.
The R1 is more explicitly aimed at active use, with an ear-hook design and sweatproof, water-resistant construction. The Verse Plus is also open-ear and water-resistant, but its listed features emphasize multipoint pairing, touch controls, and wear detection rather than a workout fit.
