Respect for the Diversity of Others

Respecting the diversity of others within school counseling is becoming aware of the students and families that we serve. This awareness is important in how we best can provide the necessary supports for our students to be successful. Understanding that cultural awareness within our profession is important when we are working with those from all different backgrounds. We promote respect and fairness in working with all cultures and seeking to understand when we are unfamiliar. The following assignments highlight the professional disposition of respect for the diversity of others.
