The assess component will support my future implementation of the ASCA National Model by providing the reflection and evaluation of my school counseling program and myself as a school counselor. Assessment is essential to the development of a comprehensive school counseling program that is driven by data and seeks to implement the ASCA Standards and Competencies with fidelity. The following assignments are examples of areas within the assess component.

Throughout this program I have worked on understanding and implementing the ASCA standards and competencies. With reflection I have identified areas that my understanding and application are strong. This reflection also helps me in determining which areas I need to further grow my practice.

My performance appraisal displays the application of my knowledge gained throughout my program and internships. Areas within the mindsets and behaviors that I need to gain practice in or more experience in are going to be a focus in building a strong school counseling program that to the best of its capability is distinguished in all ASCA standards and competencies.
