Mindsets
When I was little, I was afraid of just about everything. I’d leave a trail of lights on to avoid the dark, refuse to go out unless one of my family members were beside me, and most of all avoid anything new or unfamiliar.
Even as I worked on this sketchnote, the fixed-mindset voice in my head wouldn't stop: "I’m not a good sketch artist. The best I can draw is a stick figure or a cartoon pig from that one song. I can’t do this!"
But then it hit me: we all carry these three different mindsets within us—all at the same time. These mindsets coexist, shaping how we approach different situations and challenges.
The good news? With time, growth, and a little practice, we can shift those voices. We can bring life to a blank piece of paper, and turn it into something vibrant.
We may even surprise ourselves along the way.
