PoROus Media Investigations for Sustainability and Energy
What I do?
Welcome to the webpage of PROMISE. I seek to evolve fundamentals of flow in porous media and invoke these concepts to solve challenges of sustainable energy and environment. I integrate experiments, theoretical models and simulations to characterise the porous media, understand flow pathways for multiple phases in porous media, and its implications in design and management of large-scale porous media. The applications of my work are in large-scale geological systems for hydrogen storage, groundwater remediation, CO2 sequestration, geothermal energy, and oil and gas reservoirs. At small scale, my fundamental investigations in capillary driven flow can be used for designing porous materials for microfluidic devices, wicks and fuel cell membranes.
